Happy St. Patrick's Day

March 2011 - Play Ball!

Sophie has started Softball for the first time. She seems to be loving it or at least the social aspects of it. For never have played before she is doing very well. I think the tennis she took helped with the batting aspect of it.

March 2011 - Shrove Tuesday & Ash Wednesday

On Mardi Gras/Shrove Tuesday we had pancakes and a little devotion/lesson on pancakes and Shrove Tuesday. On Wednesday we attended the Ash Wednesday service at church.

February 24-27, 2011 - Family Ski Trip

We took the girls, along with 2 other families, to skiing at Beech Mountain, NC. We were a little nervous about the 6.5 hour ride with the girls, but they were fabulous! It was their first time seeing the mountains too. The Tindall's - Ricy, Nancy, Dylan and his friend and The Hewitt's - Jamie, Mandi, Cassidy & Leigh Catherine went with us. We had a great time! Sophie took right to skiing and loved it. Emme was OK as long as Ron was holding her skiing, but got tired of it fast. So, I had to take her back to the house and missed Sophie skiing down the "big" (beginner/green dot) slope with Ron. He said she did great though.
On arrival

First day of skiing

The girls love Dylan! We celebrated his 15th Birthday!

Thanks to Mrs. Nancy for keeping an eye on the kids, us big kids got to go skiing by ourselves for a little while.

Headin' out!

After a long ride home and unpacking Emme finally fell out on Sophie's lap watching TV. So sweet!

February 2011 - Valentine's & The Circus

Am-Ma came by on Valentine's Day to give the girls their special Valentine's.

Tickets to the Circus!
Sophie was excited - Emme was in a "mood"
So, the following weekend we went to the Circus in Florence.

They sat so still in amazement and seemed to really enjoy it.
Thanks Am-Ma!

Happy Valentine's Day

February 11, 2011 - Father-Daughter Sweetheart Dance

On Friday, February 11, 2011, Ron took Sophie to the Sweetheart/Father-Daughter Dance at her school. She was so excited and had a great time.
Couldn't get daddy to wear his tie

February 2011 - Candy Cottage

Aunt Brooke gave the girls "The Candy Cottage" for Christmas. It is a "gingerbread house" that you can decorate for all occasions/holidays. You just wash it off when you are all done. So, we got to work on it for Valentine's Day.

Of course, Emme jus
t wanted to eat the icing and candy. She got a hold of some sour candy and didn't like it too much
One side of the finished project.

Happy New Year 2011

1/1/11
First Day of the New Year 2011

We celebrated the year's end, New Year's Eve with friends & family. Our parents, Mark & his kids, The Thompson family, and neighbor Brady & his girlfriend. We had a lowcountry boil, appetizers, and marshmellows to roast on the fire. The kids ran wild, jumped on the trampoline & played the Wii, while the adults enjoyed the company, sitting around the fire & for the Gamecock fans -a ball game on TV.

SNOW! December 26, 2010

The weather man was calling for snow, but you can never count on it around here. But we woke up Sunday morning to some. It wasn't much, but the girls went out for a few minutes or until they had enough. I love snow, so it was a nice birthday surprise - it's my 34th Birthday.

We made it to church. Watched it snow all day....it was so beautiful but hardly any of it stuck. It was a nice way to spend my birthday & a Sunday afternoon. Then Ron took me to the movies to see Lil Fockers that night.

Christmas Day was full of family!
On Christmas morning, Am-Ma, Grandy, Jon, Ammy & Papa, Nana & P-Pa came over for breakfast - our traditional Great Grandma Lee's Sausage Biscuits, Breakfast Casserole & Donut-holes. Since we were up so early, we took a nap after everyone left. Then it was off to Nana & P-pa's for lunch & presents. Then back home to jump on the new trampoline and then we were off to Am-Ma & Grandy's for dinner. We had a crowd! On Grandy's (my daddy) side of the family was Uncle Charles & Aunt Janice, Aunt Donna & Uncle Rock, Cousin Pebbles & Jack and their daughter, Summer. On Am-Ma's side was Ma-Ma Jinx & Mr. Lloyd, Aunt Frank & Cousin Matt. And friend, Mark also joined us. The girls (Sophie, Summer & Emme) said the blessing for us & it was so sweet. All the food was so good. Then we played the chinese gift exchange by the fire. Grandy bought fireworks! We enjoyed the beautiful display and playing with the poppers & sparklers. After the crowd left we opened presents with Am-Ma, Grandy & Jon. We had a great day of love & family and then all sacked out early!

Santa Came!

We left Santa a Coke & some cookies...which I think he enjoyed.

And we found Roxy, with the most important thing on this Christmas Eve morning...holding baby Jesus, from the manger scene.

Sophie reading Santa's note telling her about one more surprise outside.
